Srinagar, October 1: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel died after being found unconscious in Srinagar, officials said. The personnel was reportedly shifted to a medical facility after he was found unresponsive, but doctors declared him dead.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and medico-legal formalities are being carried out. The exact circumstances and cause of death have not been immediately established, and further proceedings are underway.
Similar incidents involving CRPF personnel falling unconscious while on duty have been reported elsewhere in Jammu and Kashmir. In a recent case in Sopore, a CRPF head constable died after collapsing during physical exercise, with authorities investigating the cause of death.
