ammu, Jan 24, 2026: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Jammu of Crime Branch J&K has shown remarkable performance by registering 17 FIRs in multiple frauds/cheating, impersonation, forgery cases and misuse of o*cial positions by Government o*cials. The FIRs were registered following written complaints received from complainants. After thorough assessment on factual and legal grounds, the allegations were found to involve serious oences including fraud, impersonation, forgery, criminal conspiracy and abuse of o*cial authority.The complaints pertain to a wide range of fraudulent activities, including irregular issuance of Permanent Resident Certi0cates (PRCs), bank loan frauds using forged KYC documents, cheating by promising to provide government jobs and issuance of fake appointment letters. The allegations also include misuse of o*cial position by public servants, tampering with public records, revenue matters, illegal 0nancial gains, threats to complainants and causing wrongful losses to the Government exchequer and 0nancial institutions.Sh.
