Advisor to CM reviews Royal Springs Golf Course operations, unveils new eco-friendly golf carts, and directs upgrades to facilities, tournaments, and promotion of the sport.

Srinagar, Mar 26: Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, visited the Royal Springs Golf Course (RSGC) at Cheshma Shahi, Srinagar, on Thursday and chaired a meeting to review the overall functioning of the facility.

During the meeting, the Advisor was briefed on civil works undertaken under the capital expenditure budget for RSGC in the financial year 2025-26, as well as other ongoing maintenance and upkeep activities.

Wani provided directions for the restoration and renovation of the golf course, upgrading facilities, organizing golf tournaments, and promoting the sport among students and enthusiasts.

As part of his visit, the Advisor inaugurated a new fleet of eco-friendly golf carts procured for club members and visitors. The addition is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve visitor experience, and generate revenue for the golf course.

The electric, pollution-free carts also align with sustainable practices and allow tourists and visitors to comfortably explore and enjoy the scenic locales of the course.

The meeting was attended by Secretary RSGC Haris Ahmed Handoo and other senior officials. Member-golfers present also highlighted issues requiring attention from the management and the Governing Body to further improve facilities at the world-renowned golf course. (Agency)
