CM Omar Abdullah Launches e-SEHAT App: A Comprehensive Digital Healthcare Platform for J&K
Jammu, April 16:
In a significant step towards digitizing healthcare services in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today launched the e-SEHAT App—a holistic, one-stop digital platform aimed at improving access to healthcare services for citizens, medical professionals, and institutions across the Union Territory.
Describing the app as a “comprehensive and wide-ranging initiative,” the Chief Minister congratulated the team behind its development and stressed the need to make it even more user-friendly. He suggested incorporating additional features such as integrating appointment systems of empanelled private hospitals to enhance its utility.
To ensure smooth implementation, the Chief Minister directed the Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department to organize hands-on training workshops for medical staff, followed by public awareness campaigns to familiarize citizens with the app’s features and benefits.
He also called for a structured monitoring system with regular reviews—weekly by the Secretary of Health & Medical Education, monthly by the Chief Secretary, and quarterly by the Minister In-charge—to track the app’s performance and ensure accountability.
