Omar Abdullah today chaired the Board of Directors meeting of the Jammu & Kashmir Cable Car Corporation at the Convention Centre in Gulmarg, reviewing key ongoing and proposed tourism infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing visitor experience and operational efficiency.
During the meeting, the Managing Director of the J&K Cable Car Corporation presented a detailed agenda and comprehensive briefing on major initiatives, which were discussed in detail by the Board.
A key focus of the meeting was the upgradation of the Gulmarg Gondola project, including enhancement of its carrying capacity, modernization of infrastructure and strengthening of safety standards to handle increasing tourist inflow.

The Chief Minister stressed the need for timely execution of all projects and adoption of modern technology to improve service delivery and ensure world-class tourist facilities in Gulmarg.
He emphasized that strengthening tourism infrastructure is crucial for boosting the local economy and ensuring sustainable development of the region’s tourism sector.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, senior officials from the Tourism Department, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation, Cable Car Corporation and other concerned departments.
Officials reiterated the commitment to making Gulmarg a globally competitive tourist destination with improved infrastructure, safety and efficiency in operations.
