Jammu, January 31, 2026: Security forces on Saturday re-established contact with terrorists in the general area of Dolgam during the ongoing joint Operation Trashi-I, marking the fourth such contact in the past two weeks in the region.
According to the White Knight Corps, the fresh contact was established in the early hours of January 31 by troops of White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF following coordinated intelligence inputs from multiple agencies. A tight cordon has been laid in the area and operations are currently in progress.
Dolgam, a small hamlet with only a few homes, is strategically located between Dichar and Deller and lies around 7–8 kilometres from the site of the previous encounter at Janseer. The area is also situated approximately 7–8 kilometres away from National Highway 244, highlighting its tactical significance.
This is the fourth contact with terrorists reported in the region over the last two weeks, reflecting sustained counter-terror operations by security forces.
The village has a history of militancy-related activity. Around 18 years ago, Hizbul Mujahideen militant Muddasir was killed in an encounter in the same village. That operation was led by Veer Bahadur Vikram Singh Rathore, who was then serving as Sub Inspector in the Special Operations Group (SoG), underscoring Dolgam’s recurring appearance on the security radar.
Officials said intelligence from all available sources was carefully coordinated before launching the ground operation. Additional reinforcements have been deployed, and search operations are being carried out cautiously to prevent any escape routes.
Security agencies remain on high alert across the region amid intensified counter-terror drives, as forces continue efforts to neutralise remaining militants and dismantle their support networks.
