New Delhi: The Centre has directed all AGMUT cadre segments to report any FIR, arrest, adverse court order or action by investigative agencies involving IAS, IPS, DANICS and DANIPS officers within 48 hours. The directive was issued after a review meeting chaired by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

The MHA noted that local departments had often failed to promptly report investigations involving agencies such as the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and Anti-Corruption Bureau. The cadre segments have also been asked to submit details of pending disciplinary cases by October 15, including whether proceedings are at the pre-charge-sheet or post-charge-sheet stage.

The ministry further directed that incomplete disciplinary proposals returned by it must be resubmitted in complete form within 15 days. Officials have also been asked to review cases involving officers on prolonged leave, including their leave records and extensions.
