Jammu, 18.11.2025: Under Operation AVTAR, Police Station Gandhi Nagar achieved a major breakthrough by dismantling a well-organized two-wheeler theft racket operating across multiple areas of Jammu City. Acting on multiple public complaints, police teams successfully recovered 40 stolen motorcycles and scooties, collectively valued at approximately ₹35 lakh.
Following reports of thefts, several FIRs (Nos. 22/2025, 242/2025, 215/2025, 220/2025) were registered under relevant sections at Police Station Gandhi Nagar. A special team, led by PSI Mohd Ilyas, PSI Nadeem Akram, and ASI Pintoo Kumar, under the supervision of the SHO and SDPO City South Jammu, conducted a detailed investigation.
Sustained efforts, technical surveillance, and CCTV analysis led to the arrest of three accused:

Himanshu Nanda, son of Tilak Raj Nanda, Jindet Khurd, Bishnah, Jammu
During questioning, the accused admitted to multiple thefts in Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, and adjoining South Zone areas. Based on their disclosures, the stolen vehicles were recovered from various locations.

The total worth of the recovered vehicles is estimated at approximately ₹35 Lakh. Residents of Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, and nearby areas have highly appreciated the efforts of SHO PS Gandhi Nagar and the entire police team for their professionalism, prompt action, and successful crackdown on the theft network.
