BANDIPORA, MAY 11: The ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan continued across Bandipora district on Monday with a series of awareness programmes, group discussions, essay competitions, pledge ceremonies, and IEC campaigns organised in educational institutions and Panchayat Halqas.
The programmes were aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy and drug-free society among youth and the general public.
Discussions on the theme “Myths and Facts about Drug Addiction” were organised at several institutions including Higher Secondary School Sumbal, HSS Nowgam, HSS Mantrigam, Government HSS PTL Gurez, HSS Gadakhud, Government High School Naidkhai, High School Kehnusa and High School Achoora.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the sessions, where speakers highlighted the physical, psychological, and social consequences of substance abuse while encouraging students to adopt healthy lifestyles and positive habits.
Essay writing competitions under the Nasha Mukt campaign were organised at Government High School Nadihal, HSS Nowgam and Government Higher Secondary School Chuntimulla. Pledge-taking ceremonies were also held at Islamic Model School Wangipora and HSS Quilmuqam.
PM SHRI HSS Shadipora organised an awareness session and mass pledge drive under the anti-drug campaign.
Meanwhile, IEC campaigns and awareness activities were conducted at Government Higher Secondary School Purana Tulail Gurez, Jurniyal-A, Nadihal-B, Dangerpora, Buglinder-A, HS Panar, HS Ahamsharief, and various Panchayat Halqas including Dawar Gurez, Kawpora, and Payeen Badugam.
The programmes witnessed active participation from students, teachers, Panchayat representatives, and members of the public, reflecting strong community support for the successful implementation of the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan in the district.
