An army soldier died after his service rifle went off accidentally in the Sarna area of Bhaderwah in Doda district.
Officials told Media that the incident occurred at the battalion headquarters, where the soldier sustained fatal injuries when his rifle discharged accidentally, killing him on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Biswal, son of Kishore Biswal, a resident of Dhenkal, Odisha.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter. (Agencies)
