Union Home Minister Amit Shah Begins Three-Day Visit to Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu, April 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Sunday for a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at reviewing the region’s security situation and inaugurating key development projects.
On his arrival at Jammu Airport, Shah was received by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior officials of the Union Territory administration.
Originally slated for April 7, the visit was advanced by a day in light of the evolving security dynamics in the region. Sources said the Home Minister is expected to chair a high-level Unified Headquarters meeting to assess counter-terrorism strategies, border security, and infiltration concerns.
The security review meetings will see participation from LG Manoj Sinha, top officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Indian Army, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, intelligence agencies, and senior civil administration officials.
Shah’s visit underscores the Centre’s focus on strengthening security and expediting developmental initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir.
