All schools shut in J&K’s Rajouri, Poonch districts amid heavy rainfall

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri and Poonch districts have announced the closure of all government and private schools on Tuesday due to heavy rains and adverse weather conditions, officials said.

An official stated, “All government and private schools in Rajouri district have been shut in view of heavy rainfall and inclement weather.”

As per a statement to Greater Kashmir, the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, citing the prevailing weather conditions, has ordered the closure of all government and private schools in the district today, August 12, 2025, as a precautionary measure.

However, officials confirmed that the Tiranga Human Chain event will take place as scheduled on August 12, 2025.  (Agencies)
