Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday said that Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi should raise his concerns in Parliament instead of seeking limelight on the streets.
Speaking to reporters, the Deputy CM, as per Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reiterated that the Chief Minister has already clarified there is no proposal to hike electricity tariffs. “Nobody has stopped Aga Sahab from protesting. He is an Honourable Member of Parliament and should raise his voice there,” he said.
He added that the MP has his own protocol. “He should speak to the Chief Minister. He should speak to the Prime Minister. But it doesn’t suit an MP to speak on the streets just to remain in the limelight,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister further said that the media should refrain from giving unnecessary hype to individuals attempting to stay in the spotlight. (Agencies)
