ADC Bhaderwah Orders Strict Enforcement of NGT Guidelines

BHADERWAH, MAY 15: Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar Bhutyal has ordered strict enforcement of National Green Tribunal guidelines across Bhaderwah subdivision to safeguard environmentally sensitive areas.

The directions were issued during a high-level review meeting held to assess implementation of environmental protection measures and sanitation systems in the subdivision.

During the meeting, the ADC stressed strict adherence to environmental norms, scientific waste management practices and ecological protection measures. He directed concerned departments to ensure daily monitoring of waste collection systems and mandatory sharing of geo-tagged photographs to maintain transparency and accountability.

Sunil Kumar Bhutyal further instructed departments to achieve 100 percent door-to-door waste collection in rural areas. Special emphasis was laid on improving sanitation in marketplaces, with directions to deploy separate vehicles for collection of waste from fruit and vegetable markets as well as chicken shops.

To prevent illegal dumping of waste in vulnerable areas, the ADC also proposed installation of chain-link fencing at identified locations.

The ADC directed the Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Block Development Officer and Division Officer Pollution Control Committee to launch awareness programmes and sanitation drives in schools, colleges and major marketplaces regarding waste management and environmental cleanliness.

The Municipal Committee Bhaderwah was also instructed to take strict action against illegal construction activities in the town.

The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer PWD(R&B), Executive Engineer Mechanical Department, Executive Engineer I&FC, Block Development Officer, Assistant Executive Engineer Jal Shakti and representatives from various departments.
