Bhadarwah, May 5: Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhadarwah, Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, on Monday chaired a meeting to finalize the activity plan for World Red Cross Day, to be observed on May 8, 2026 across the district.
The meeting focused on planning, arrangements, and overall strategy for smooth conduct of the event. It was attended by Chief Executive Officer BDA Sanjeev Sharma, SDPO Naveen Qazi, Tehsildars Kamal Preet Singh and Mohammad Tahir, AO BDA Manmit Ganjoo, BMO Dr. Varsha Sharma, CDPO Farhat Shamim Khan, principals of Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools, BDO Bhalla, and representatives from the Indian Army and CRPF, among others.
After detailed deliberations, the activity plan was finalized, which includes awareness programmes, health camps, blood donation drives, and first-aid demonstrations across the sub-district.
The ADC emphasized the need to mobilize maximum volunteers for the blood donation drives and also reviewed the functioning of blood banks, stressing the importance of strengthening these facilities.
He directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the successful organization of the event and maximum public participation. The Education Department was instructed to conduct Red Cross Day activities and organize painting competitions in schools to spread awareness among students.
