SAMBA, MAY 07: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Power Development Department and District Mentor for Samba under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Ashwani Kumar, today chaired a review meeting regarding implementation of the 100-day Action Plan under the ongoing anti-drug campaign in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Anuj Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba Jagdish Singh, besides senior officers from various departments attended the meeting. Officers from Education, Health, Social Welfare, Youth Services & Sports, Panchayati Raj, Information, Transport, Excise, Labour and other stakeholder departments were also present.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of the activities being carried out under the 100-day action plan was undertaken. Various departments apprised the ACS of the awareness programmes, preventive measures, enforcement activities, counselling initiatives and community outreach campaigns being conducted across the district to combat drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.
Ashwani Kumar stressed the need for a coordinated and mission-mode approach involving all departments, educational institutions, community stakeholders and civil society for effective implementation of the campaign at the grassroots level.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening awareness among youth, promoting sports and constructive engagement activities and ensuring timely identification, counselling and rehabilitation support for affected individuals.
The ACS also reviewed department-wise progress and ongoing initiatives being undertaken under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan. He directed all concerned departments to further intensify awareness drives, ensure active public participation and work in close coordination for successful implementation of the campaign across Samba district.
The meeting also discussed strategies for sustained community involvement, stronger inter-departmental coordination and effective monitoring of activities being conducted under the ongoing 100-day intensive campaign.
