Kishtwar, October 6: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS) on Tuesday disbursed a total of ₹4 lakh in compensation to the legal heirs of four road accident victims under the J&K Road Accident Victim Fund.
An amount of ₹1 lakh each was provided to the families of the four deceased victims. The cases were submitted by ARTO Kishtwar Tasleem Wani (JKAS) for consideration under the welfare scheme.
The beneficiaries included Geeta Devi, wife of late Rajinder Kumar of Tagood; Guddi Devi, wife of late Rakesh Kumar of Paddar; Sudesha Devi, wife of late Naresh Kumar of Kwar Dool; and Ghulam Rasool, son of Mukthar Sagar of Tander Sounder, Dachan.
The financial assistance is aimed at providing timely support to families facing hardship following the loss of their loved ones in road accidents. The district administration said the initiative reflects the UT government’s continued efforts to extend relief and assistance to affected families.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring that eligible road accident victims and their families receive prompt assistance under government welfare and relief schemes.
