New Delhi, September 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday attended a ‘Bhajan Clubbing’ programme in Delhi, joining youngsters in a concert-style devotional music gathering and participating in the performances.
The event was held at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Park to mark the 110th birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Modi was seated among the audience and was seen clapping along with the performers and playing a tambourine-like instrument during a bhajan dedicated to Lord Ram.
The programme brought together traditional devotional music and a contemporary concert format, with a predominantly young audience singing and clapping along to bhajans. Songs dedicated to Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman were among the performances.
Sharing a video from the event on X, PM Modi wrote, “Bhajan Clubbing in Delhi. Spectacular!” He has previously spoken about the emerging trend, describing it as a combination of devotion, culture, spirituality and modernity that has attracted young audiences.
The event highlighted the growing popularity of presenting traditional bhajans in a modern, high-energy setting, particularly among younger audiences.
