Police said that the landlords neither informed the local police station about the arrival of the tenants nor furnished the required details for verification, thereby violating the District Magistrate’s notification regarding tenant registration.

Following the findings, FIR No. 37/2026 under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Gool, and further investigation has been initiated.

In a separate case, Police Station Dharamkund received information that Javid Ahmed, a resident of Sumbar-A in Ramban district, had rented out his house to outsiders without submitting their details to the police for verification. Acting on the information, police registered FIR No. 12/2026 under Section 223 BNS and launched an investigation.

Ramban Police has urged all landlords, property owners, and house owners to strictly comply with tenant verification requirements and submit tenant details to the nearest police station in a timely manner.

Police officials stated that tenant verification is an important security measure aimed at maintaining public safety and assisting law enforcement agencies. They warned that strict legal action will continue against those found violating the prescribed procedures.

“All landlords are advised to ensure mandatory tenant verification and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the interest of public safety and security,” the police said.
