SHOPIAN, MAY 11: A wide range of awareness and outreach programmes were conducted across district Shopian on Monday under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, witnessing large-scale participation from students, youth, teachers, cooperative societies, government departments and civil society members.
The day-long campaign featured pledge ceremonies, group discussions, sports activities, yoga sessions, poster exhibitions, painting competitions, counselling sessions, seminars, debates, and public interaction programmes aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Educational institutions across the district actively participated by organising anti-drug awareness talks, sports events, and special assembly sessions to encourage students to adopt positive and healthy lifestyles.
Members of cooperative societies, lambardars, and frontline workers also took part in outreach activities in public spaces including markets, business establishments, medical shops, petrol pumps, and playgrounds to spread awareness at the grassroots level.
Special drives were also conducted by various government departments including Rural Development Department (RDD), Revenue, Poshan Projects, Ayush, Cooperative, and allied agricultural departments as part of the campaign.
Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen community participation and build a strong collective movement towards a drug-free society in Jammu and Kashmir.
