DDAC Bandipora organises wellness and counselling session under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan

Yoga, counselling and motivational sessions held to support recovery and rehabilitation of indoor patients

BANDIPORA, MAY 07: Continuing its sustained efforts against drug abuse under the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre (DDAC) Bandipora on Thursday organised a holistic wellness-cum-counselling session for indoor patients admitted at the Centre in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH Bandipora.

The programme was organised under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Bandipora, Bashir Ahmad Malik, with the aim of promoting physical wellness, mental stability, emotional healing and positive lifestyle transformation among the recovering beneficiaries undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the Centre.

During the session, noted Yoga Expert Irshad Ahmad conducted various yoga and relaxation exercises focusing on stress management, breathing techniques, concentration, flexibility and inner peace. Participants actively took part in practical yoga demonstrations and mindfulness activities organised within the rehabilitation hall of the Centre.

A motivational and psycho-social counselling session was also conducted under the guidance of District Nodal Officer AYUSH Bandipora, Dr. Firdous Ahmad Malik.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Irfan Ahmad Banday, Medical Officer AYUSH, highlighted the importance of self-discipline, mental resilience, healthy routine and community support in overcoming substance dependence. He encouraged the beneficiaries undergoing treatment and rehabilitation to adopt a positive outlook towards life and emphasized that recovery is achievable through determination, counselling and continuous support.

Experts and counsellors from DDAC Bandipora also interacted with the beneficiaries and stressed the importance of holistic rehabilitation through psychological counselling, social reintegration, physical fitness and behavioural transformation.

The beneficiaries appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude to the organising departments for conducting such engaging and therapeutic sessions, stating that the programme helped them feel motivated, relaxed and hopeful towards rebuilding their lives free from addiction.
