Srinagar, May 5: The Department of Social Welfare Srinagar, through its SANKALP – Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW), on Tuesday organized a facilitation camp at Ganderpora to extend welfare services and raise awareness about various government schemes.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, with officials providing on-the-spot assistance and guidance regarding multiple social welfare initiatives. Beneficiaries were informed about eligibility criteria, required documentation, and application procedures for pensions, scholarships, financial aid, and other social security schemes.
Officials stated that nearly 50 beneficiaries were directly linked to different schemes during the camp, ensuring immediate access to government support.
Special emphasis was placed on reaching marginalized and vulnerable sections of society to ensure that no eligible individual is left out of the welfare framework. Officials also addressed public queries and grievances, offering prompt solutions wherever possible.
Speaking on the occasion, officials from SANKALP-HEW Srinagar highlighted the significance of such outreach programmes in bridging the gap between the administration and the public. They reiterated their commitment to inclusive development and ensuring easy access to welfare services.
The initiative was widely appreciated by the local community, with residents calling for more such camps in the future to enhance awareness and accessibility of government schemes.
