Srinagar, Apr 7 : The NH-44 was reopened for passenger traffic in both directions on Tuesday morning, officials said.
A senior traffic officer told Kashmir News agency that vehicles have been allowed to move from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa after the highway was restored.
He said commuters have been advised to strictly follow lane discipline, warning that overtaking and wrong-lane driving could cause congestion along the route.
People have also been urged to avoid rumours and verify road conditions through official Traffic Police platforms, including social media handles and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
