Four Uttar Pradesh residents injured in crash at Sangam Crossing; traffic briefly disrupted, investigation underway into cause of accident

Anantnag, April 04: Four persons were injured in a road accident at Sangam Crossing along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Saturday, officials said.

The mishap took place at the busy Sangam junction on NH-44, a vital route connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country. The injured, all believed to be residents of Uttar Pradesh, were immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Bijbehara for treatment, officials added.

Hospital sources said the injured are undergoing treatment, though the severity of their injuries was not known at the time of reporting.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further details about the cause of the accident are awaited.

Authorities said traffic movement was briefly disrupted after the crash but was later restored. (Agency)
