Snow, Rain & Gusty Winds Likely to Lash J&K’s Higher Reaches from March 28

Dry spell till March 25; rain, snow and gusty winds expected from March 26, intensifying in higher reaches between March 28–31

Srinagar, March 25: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Tuesday issued a weather advisory, forecasting generally dry conditions till March 25, followed by light rain or snow on March 26.

Weather conditions are likely to deteriorate from March 28, with light to moderate rain, snowfall and gusty winds (40–50 kmph) expected in higher reaches till March 31.

Farmers have been advised to suspend agricultural activities on March 26 and between March 29–31, while travellers are urged to plan their journeys carefully and follow traffic advisories. Moderate snowfall is also likely over higher reaches, accompanied by thunder, lightning and strong winds from the night of March 28 to March 30.

The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy between April 1 and 4. (Agency)
