JAMMU, Mar 20 : Manoj Sinha on Thursday urged the youth to build a strong and lasting connection with the country’s timeless traditions, rich spiritual heritage, and wisdom, saying they will not only inherit India’s legacy but also reshape it for a sustainable future.
Addressing the Navreh Mahotsav organised by Kashmiri Pandit Sabha in Jammu, the Lt Governor emphasised the importance of passing cultural values to younger generations to preserve the identity and heritage of Kashmiri Pandits.
He appreciated the community’s efforts in safeguarding age-old customs and traditions, noting that culturally rooted youth can contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth and development.
Highlighting the significance of Navreh and the beginning of Chaitra Navratra, Sinha described the festival as not just a celebration but a spiritual journey towards self-realisation, inner peace, and divine connection. He said the nine days of Navratra symbolise devotion, discipline, and the pursuit of Shakti (power).
“Our ancient traditions are our true legacy, and it is our responsibility to preserve and pass them on to future generations,” he said.
The Lt Governor expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir has the potential to emerge as a vibrant cultural hub and a prosperous Union Territory, driven by the aspirations and efforts of its youth.
He also extended greetings on the occasion and prayed for peace, prosperity, and well-being of all, invoking the blessings of Maa Durga and Maa Sharika.
The event was attended by members of the Kashmiri Pandit community, including intellectuals, social activists, and public representatives. (Agency)
