Haj 2026 Training Programme Announced for Kishtwar Pilgrims

Kishtwar Jan 14, 2026: The district administration Kishtwar has announced the first phase of Orientation/Training Programme for selected Haj pilgrims of Haj–1447 (H)/2026, aimed at preparing them for the proper performance of Haj rituals and understanding related logistical aspects.

As per the official letter issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, the training programme will be held on January 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Islamia Faridia Higher Secondary School, Kishtwar. All selected Haj pilgrims of Kishtwar district have been directed to attend the programme without fail.

The training will focus mainly on Manasik-e-Haj (Haj rituals), travel formalities, health precautions, discipline, and other essential guidelines required during the pilgrimage. Resource persons will also brief the pilgrims about safety measures and arrangements to be followed during their stay in Saudi Arabia, with special attention to elderly pilgrims.

As an additional detail, it was informed that 55 pilgrims from Kishtwar district have been selected for Haj 2026, including 36 males and 19 females, with four pilgrims aged above 65 years. At the Union Territory level, around 4,000 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir will get the opportunity to perform Haj this year.

The administration further clarified that similar Haj training programmes will be conducted in all other 19 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that pilgrims across the UT are adequately trained and well-prepared for the sacred journey.

Pilgrims have welcomed the initiative, terming the orientation programme crucial for gaining practical and religious clarity before embarking on one of the most important pillars of Islam.
