Fighting on multiple fronts, Indian army conduct Medical Outreach Program for Doda’s remote villages

Doda: fighting on different fronts including against prevailing Pakistan sponsored terrorism in Doda & Kishtwar Districts, the Indian army once again comes forward for the help of the people living in remote
Ghil and Kunan villages of Bhalessa in Gundow sub division of J&K’s Doda District.
As per the details available with News Insider 24X7, 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), under Operation Sadbhavna organised a medical outreach camp in the remote villages of Ghil and Kunan with an aim to provide essential healthcare services to villagers with limited access to medical facilities.

Recent heavy rains and cloudbursts severely damaged the road from Gundow to Kunan and completely destroyed a vital bridge, isolating these villages. In response, the camp offered timely medical aid despite these challenging conditions arise in wake of the aftermath of flash floods as a result of which several water born disease spread in the area that required immediate medical response- the gap that filled by the army.

Over 250 residents, including children, youth, and elderly were scrutinised & benefited from free medical consultations and medicines. This initiative demonstrates 26 RR’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in difficult terrains during natural calamities.

Army officials told News Insider 24X7 that this camp was organised to provide free basic health facilities, ensuring the well-being of local residents amid challenging circumstances.”

This program underscores the dedication of the Rashtriya Rifles to community welfare beyond security duties.

Earlier Army also constructed the Bailey bridge near Jangalwar Thathri after a portion of National Highway 244 washed away due to flash floods triggered due to cloudburst in upper reaches of Figso area of Thathri Sub Division.

In another good will gesture Indian Army (26 RR) with the help of Indian Air Force successfully Airlifted 17 year old Ultfata Banoo D/o Ghulam Mohammad Malik R/o Kither Bunjwah, one of the remotest & unconnected area of J&K’s Kishtwar District who got grievously injured (Critical Spinal Injury) at Kither on 27 Aug 25.
The young girl fell down about 20 feet below Sayyed Keri due to landslide and injured her spinal Cord.
Since the area has no road connectivity and due to hostile conditions in the area following heavy rainfall, Indian army arrange Helicopter Evacuation through Indian Air Force.
In absence of the landing facilities, despite difficult situation & hostile conditions for landing, the IAF chopper pilot in heroic attempt landed the chopper at the local High School ground situated at an altitude of above 7700 feet to evacuate the young girl.
The local people hails the Indian army for timely help in rescuing the young girl who required immediate medical help.
It is pertinent to mention that in last over a year, Jammu Division in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir had witnessed dozens of encounters between the Pakistani terrorist & the security forces including Kishtwar & Doda Districts of Chenab valley in which 5 Pakistani terrorists were killed in two different encounters; one at Gundow last year and the other one in Kishtwar earlier this year while security forces also suffered casualties in different terror attacks beside two Village Defence Gaurd members namely Nazir Ahmed & Kuldeep Kumar were killed by the Pakistani terrorist in Kuntwara area of Drabshalla Tehsil in Kishtwar District.
