Security was tightened at Jammu Tawi Railway Station on Thursday after BSF personnel intercepted a pigeon allegedly carrying a threat note near the international border in RS Pora sector.
According to officials, the note mentioned a possible attack on Jammu Railway Station. Following the recovery, authorities sounded a high alert across the premises. Security checks have been intensified, with vehicles entering the station thoroughly searched and pedestrians’ identity cards verified.
A BSF official confirmed that the pigeon was taken into custody and the matter is under investigation.
“We recovered a pigeon carrying a note that mentioned a threat to Jammu Railway Station. Security agencies have been alerted, and precautionary measures are being enforced,” the official said.
The incident has prompted heightened security drills at the busy railway hub, with agencies ensuring no lapse in vigilance. (Agencies)
