One Killed, 35 Injured in Samba Road Accident

Samba (J&K): At least one pilgrim was killed and 35 others injured after the bus they were travelling in met with an accident in the Jatla area of Samba district on Thursday.

Officials told Media that the bus, bearing registration number UP81BT and carrying pilgrims of the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, met with the accident near Jatla.

The deceased has been identified as Kripal Iqbal (31), son of Harban, resident of Rukhalu, UP. The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, with six of them later transferred to AIIMS for specialized care.

The injured include Phool Kumar, Om Kala, Ram Singh, Bala, Kajal, Rakesh Kumar, Pushpa, Ompal, Mavasi, Nambir, Jaipal, Sobram, Reena, Suraj, Mukesh, Arti, Ramvati, Rinku, Uadal Singh, Nirmal, Ashok, Kaushal, Dushant Singh, Aimpushpinder, Bhagwan Say, Khoof Chand, Gajraj, Vijender, Rajinder (driver), Poonam, Shivam, and Om Vati, all residents of Amroha, Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and an investigation is underway. (Agencies)
