IGP Kashmir reviews security arrangements for Independence Day and upcoming events at PCR Kashmir

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, IPS, chaired a security review meeting at the Police Control Room Kashmir to assess the overall security situation and arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations and related events.

The meeting was attended by key officials including IGP Security J&K, IGP Railways, IG BSF Ftr Headquarters, IG CRPF Srinagar, JD SIB Srinagar, all range DIGs of Kashmir Zone, DIGs of IR Kashmir, Armed Kashmir, CID Kashmir, Traffic Jammu, SSB Srinagar, RPF Srinagar, CRPF KOS, CRPF South/North Srinagar, ITBP Srinagar, all district SSPs of Kashmir Zone, SSP PCR Kashmir, SSPs of Traffic City Srinagar, Railways Kashmir, Traffic Rural Kashmir, CID SBK, APCR Srinagar, CID CIK, Security Kashmir, DC SB Srinagar, GSO (1) 15 Corps, COs of SDRF 1st Bn Srinagar, JKAP 5th Bn, SP PC Srinagar, and other officers.

At the start of the meeting, IGP Kashmir was briefed on the security arrangements and deployment plans in place to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming events. Shri V.K. Birdi directed all officers to complete necessary preparations well in advance.

During the meeting, the IGP assigned specific responsibilities to various officers and gave clear instructions for precise execution of their tasks with thorough planning. Additional directives were given concerning key logistical arrangements to ensure seamless event management.

IGP Kashmir instructed officers to strengthen security checkpoints, especially during night hours, at vulnerable spots and along the city’s entry and exit points. He emphasized the importance of strict vigilance against any elements threatening peace and security. Shri V.K. Birdi also stressed maintaining high alertness and increasing area domination within their respective jurisdictions.

Furthermore, the IGP reviewed the security measures in place for the protection of highways, railway tracks, and stations throughout the Valley.

The meeting concluded with a unified commitment to heightened vigilance, better coordination, and effective implementation of security protocols to ensure the peaceful and orderly conduct of all scheduled events.  (Agencies)
