In a continued effort to remain connected with grassroots issues and ensure timely redressal of public grievances, Hon’ble MLA Lal Chowk, @ahsanpardesi undertook extensive tour of several areas within the Lal Chowk constituency, accompanied by the Superintending Engineer (SE) and Executive Engineers (Xens) of Jal Shakti and Irrigation and Flood Control Department and BDO khanmouh
The visit covered the areas of Athwajan, Zewan, Zawoora, and Khanmouh, where the Hon’ble MLA met with local residents, listened to their concerns, and assured them of appropriate follow-up action. The public highlighted various pressing issues related to water management, infrastructure needs, drainage, and irrigation, which were attentively noted by the accompanying departmental officials. Instructions were issued on the spot to take up the necessary steps for early resolution of grievances.
A special focus of the tour was the visit to Balhama, a locality where residents have been persistently demanding the restoration and protection of a vital irrigation canal that serves as a lifeline for local agriculture. Recognizing the canal’s significance in supporting the agrarian economy of the area, the Hon’ble MLA held a detailed on-site review meeting with officials and local community members.
Discussions revolved around the safeguarding, desilting, and systematic revival of the irrigation canal, which will greatly enhance water availability for farmlands, thereby benefiting hundreds of farming households and boosting agricultural productivity. The MLA emphasized the importance of long-term planning and sustainability in irrigation infrastructure and urged the department to prioritize the project in upcoming development plans.
The visit witnessed enthusiastic participation of locals, civil society members.
Hon’ble MLA Ahsan Pardesi reiterated his commitment to addressing core issues of public welfare and stated that connectivity with people and field-level governance remain central to his representative duties.
