Srinagar: As many as 2,733 food safety cases are pending in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the backlog of cases related to violations of food safety standards across the Union Territory.
The pending cases concern matters being dealt with under the food safety and regulatory framework, with authorities responsible for taking further legal action and ensuring compliance with prescribed standards.
The figure comes amid continuing efforts to strengthen food safety enforcement and ensure that violations involving food quality and consumer safety are dealt with through the appropriate legal process.
