16 Driving Licences Disqualified in Kishtwar for Serious Traffic Violations

Kishtwar, March 9: In a major enforcement drive to curb traffic violations and promote road safety, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Kishtwar has disqualified the driving licences of 16 motorists for serious breaches of traffic regulations.

ARTO Kishtwar Tasleem Wani (JKAS) took the action against drivers found involved in various violations, including fatal road accidents, dangerous and reckless driving, overloading, using mobile phones while driving, and failure to wear seat belts or helmets.

Officials said the action was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS) and in compliance with the directions issued by Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan (JKAS) to strengthen enforcement of road safety regulations across Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Motor Vehicles Department, the licences were disqualified under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 after the motorists were found guilty of violating traffic norms that pose a serious threat to public safety.

The motorists whose driving licences have been disqualified include:

ARTO Kishtwar reiterated that the Motor Vehicles Department will continue to take strict action against violators to ensure safer roads and protect the lives of commuters.
