World Peace Conference 2025 to Be Held in Leh

Leh: The Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Leh, in collaboration with LAHDC Leh, UT Administration Ladakh, Thiksey Monastery, Ladakh Shanti Stupa Committee, ABCP, Global Peace Foundation, and several interfaith groups, announced that the World Peace Conference 2025 will be held in Leh from August 23–25.

Addressing a press conference, the organisers said the conference will be held under the theme: “Remembering the Past, Reimagining the Future: A Call for Unity, Compassion, and Lasting Peace.” The event will also commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and pay tribute to the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The three-day international gathering will feature interfaith prayers, academic sessions, cultural programs, and the adoption of the Ladakh Peace Declaration 2025 at the iconic Shanti Stupa.

Key highlights of the conference include the inauguration ceremony at MIMC Devachan Campus, a peace walk in Leh, special prayers at Thiksey Monastery, inter-monastic prayers, and cultural performances marking the conclusion of the event.

The organisers expressed hope that the conference will strengthen Ladakh’s identity as a center of peace and spirituality, while promoting dialogue, compassion, and harmony among communities and nations.(Agencies)
