SKUAST-K Vice Chancellor briefs LG Manoj Sinha on key initiatives, Agri-Excellence Program
Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Kashmir, met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday to discuss the university’s latest programs and developments.
During the meeting, Prof. Ganai updated the Lieutenant Governor on several major initiatives, including a two-week Foundation Program for students, the Annual AICRP Meeting on Seeds, and the Agri-Excellence Program — recently approved by the Government of India with a funding of ₹42 crore.
The Agri-Excellence Program aims to integrate advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Sensors, Robotics, and Blockchain into agriculture, with the goal of enhancing operational efficiency, improving produce quality, lowering production costs, and ensuring traceability.
He also informed the Lieutenant Governor about a new partnership with IIT Bombay, which will establish a Center of Excellence on RuDRA (Rural Data Research Analysis) at SKUAST-K to boost data-driven rural research.
