Vasai horror: Boy hurt after being dragged by radio cab; watch

The incident left him with stitches and possible need for further scans. A case has been registered against the cab driver, who remains unarrested. Raghav's mother was at work during the mishap.

Mumbai: A six-year-old boy was injured after being dragged by a radio cab driver for several feet in Vasai East. The incident happened around 10am on Wednesday.

The boy, Raghav Kumar Chouhan, was playing in his locality in Naikpada, Waliv, when around 10.30am, a radio cab came and picked up its customer. The driver failed to notice the boy and ran over him, leaving him with multiple injuries. The passersby tried to stop the car but failed.

Raghav was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he received 14 stitches on the back of the head and nine stitches on the forehead. The doctors confirmed that he will have to go through a few scans and X-rays and also MRI if required. The boy had injuries on his legs and some bruises on the chest as well.

Police sub-inspector Ashutosh Chavan said that a case had been registered against the cab driver, but he was yet to be arrested. Raghav’s mother said that she was at work when the mishap happened. She said she had managed to get the driver’s number but he refused to come to Vasai.
