Ambala, Feb 18: Ambala’s Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday arrested two Pakistani nationals at Ambala Cantt Railway Station who had escaped from the Juvenile Observation Home in Ranbir Singh Pura, Jammu and Kashmir, after allegedly firing at security personnel, officials said.
The escape involved three inmates—two Pakistani nationals and one Indian—who reportedly attempted to flee via the UP-Nepal border. The arrested Pakistanis, Mohammad Sanaullah (20) from Muzaffargarh, Punjab Province, Pakistan, and Ahsan Anwar (21) from Nankana, Punjab Province, Pakistan, were convicted inmates at the Juvenile Observation Home, Sanaullah since 2019 and Anwar since 2021.
Their accomplice, an Indian national named Karamjeet alias Guga, also escaped and is alleged to have masterminded the escape plan to smuggle the two Pakistanis out of the country via Nepal.
SP STF Vikrant Bhushan confirmed that the arrested Pakistanis have been handed over to Jammu and Kashmir Police, who will conduct further investigation and take them on remand. (Agency)
