Train services were suspended on Thursday after a truck accidentally slid onto the railway track in Qazigund.
As per reports from the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a truck with registration number JK02AT-5895 rolled down a slope onto the track at km 167/10-11 between Banihal and Qazigund (Hiller section).
Following the incident, train services were halted and efforts to clear the track began immediately.
An official confirmed that services have remained suspended since early morning. “Though machinery was brought in to remove the truck, its heavy weight made the task difficult. The Army has now been called in to assist with the clearance operation,” the official said.
Train services will resume once the truck is successfully removed from the tracks.
