New Delhi, August 01: The unnecessary delay in holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir can be gauged from the fact that Central Government has compulsions to take popular political party of J&K, National Conference along with it as an alliance to form next Government in union territory of Jammu and Kashmir which is under Governor’s rule at present for the last several years. This was stated by former RAW chief A S Dulat during an exclusive interview to News Insider 24×7 headed by its Editor in Chief Masood Malik at New Delhi here today.
While throwing light on the political scenario of trouble torn Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Dulat emphasized that the political vacuum which has been created by the forces inimical to peace and prosperity of the UT can be defeated by a popular peoples Government only and for this purpose holding of Assembly elections is extremely very necessary, former RAW chief added.
While replying to a question pertaining to delay in holding Assembly elections in J&K, Mr Dulat took a dig at central government adding, Bharatiya Janata Party can not win elections with out an active support of National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP will fail if it goes into fray of its own because its Team A,B,C,D etc parties will cut the vote share and its compulsion of joining hands with National Conference for an alliance won’t be ruled out Mr Dulat ascertained adding, only National Conference is a big political party in which people of both the regions of the UT believe that their aspirations can be fulfilled. So a major portion of voters expects Omar Abdullah as next Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Former RAW chief expressed his opinion about Mirwaiz Moulvi Umar Farooq who is a renowned religious leader of Kashmir can play a vital role in building a new Kashmir. He said if Mirwaiz joins mainstream politics at this point of time, that will be very fruitful for the people of Kashmir to keep inimical forces at bay and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Omar Abdullah together can lead the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on the path of peace, prosperity and development as both of them have a huge public backing behind them, Mr Dulat maintained during the conversation.
