Speaking at a grand event organized to mark ‘Rajouri Day’ in the border district, the Lieutenant Governor said that despite continuous attempts to destabilize the region, the resolve and vigilance of the armed forces have ensured that the terror threat is being tackled with full force.

“Our enemy has constantly been sending terrorists to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir. But our brave soldiers are alert, vigilant, and determined to eliminate terrorism from the region permanently,” Sinha said.

Calling for greater public support to the security forces, he urged citizens to cooperate with the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and paramilitary forces in identifying terrorists and their sympathizers. “The support of the people is crucial in restoring lasting peace in the Union Territory,” he added.

The Lieutenant Governor lauded the valor and selfless service of the security forces, stating that their courage and sacrifices would be remembered forever. “Their exemplary devotion, love for the motherland, and unwavering duty have always protected us. The entire nation is indebted to them for their sacrifices,” he said.

An official statement released by the administration emphasized the historical and symbolic importance of Rajouri. The LG paid tribute to brave hearts such as Lieutenant Ram Raghoba Rane and Brigadier Mohammad Usman, whose heroic acts during critical times helped defend the region.

“Rajouri stands as a living symbol of resilience, courage, and unity. The stories of sacrifice from this soil are not just memories but lessons for the youth of today. Rajouri Day is a reminder that our unity and cultural heritage will never be broken,” the Lieutenant Governor stated.

Highlighting the spiritual and cultural relevance of the day, Sinha recalled that Guru Gobind Singh Ji established the Khalsa Panth on this day, and his teachings continue to inspire Indian soldiers toward duty, sacrifice, and valor.

A special postal cover was released on the occasion, commemorating 77 years of Rajouri’s liberation. The event featured a spectacular Motorcycle Acrobatics display and cultural performances showcasing the valour and strength of the armed forces and J&K Police.

The program was attended by Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command; Lieutenant General PK Mishra, GOC, White Knight Corps; army veterans, civil society members, and senior officials from the police and civil administration.

Prominent dignitaries present included Naseem Liaqat, Chairman, District Development Council Rajouri; Iftikhar Ahmed, Thakur Randhir Singh, and Ch. Javed Iqbal, Members of the Legislative Assembly; and Abhishek Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri. Families of martyrs and a large number of locals also gathered to pay homage to the heroes of Rajouri.
