Srinagar, May 06: In a joint initiative, Srinagar Police, in collaboration with the Tourist Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), carried out an extensive mock drill in Dal Lake on Monday, aimed at strengthening response preparedness for emergencies such as boat capsizing and drowning incidents.
Personnel from Srinagar Police, Tourist Police, and SDRF, equipped with essential rescue gear and resources, simulated real-time emergency scenarios to rehearse and refine rescue and response protocols in line with established safety standards.
The SDRF also focused on enhancing its capacity-building measures and providing logistical support to effectively tackle any future contingencies.
Senior officers including the SSP Enforcement, SP Zone East Srinagar, SP Headquarters Srinagar, DySP Headquarters Srinagar, and DySP SDRF were present to oversee and assess the preparedness exercise.
The mock drill reflects the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s continued commitment to improving emergency response mechanisms and bolstering public safety across the region.
