Since destination weddings are in trend, Govt will now help couples marry at exotic locations within India

The Ministry of Tourism launched an ambitious campaign to showcase India as a premier wedding destination globally. This initiative aims to showcase India as a wedding venue and to tap into the immense potentials of its wedding industry.

Launching the special campaign, G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Tourism, said, “Today marks the beginning of a remarkable journey. A mission to position India as the epitome of wedding destinations worldwide”.

“With the launch of this campaign, I invite couples from around the world to explore the enchanting dream wedding destinations across our incredible nation,” the minister said.

This initiative is built upon a comprehensive strategy that encompasses digital marketing, social media promotions, partnerships with wedding planners, collaborations with influencers, and both physical and virtual events, the statement said. This multifaceted approach aims to redefine the perception of India’s wedding offerings, moving beyond opulent and regal ceremonies, it added.

The campaign commences by profiling around 25 key destinations throughout India, showcasing how India harmonises with wedding aspirations of couple. From breathtaking Himalayan landscapes to sacred rituals, from delectable culinary experiences to cutting-edge infrastructure, this campaign encapsulates India’s magnificence.

In future, the government also plans on tying up with hotel chains, and offer discounts to couples planning to marry at these locations.
