JAMMU, July 23: Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Sat Sharma chaired an organisational meeting of Mandal Dansal and Mandal Nagrota in the Nagrota Assembly constituency on Tuesday.
The meeting, aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and reviewing organisational functioning, saw participation from Shakti Kendra in-charges, booth presidents, and party workers.
J&K BJP general secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria, Jammu North district president Nand Kishore Sharma, Seh-Prabhari Vinay Gupta, and Vistarak Inderjeet Sharma also addressed the gathering.
In his address, Sat Sharma emphasized that the BJP’s strength lies in its dedicated grassroots workers. “Every activist is a pillar of our mission to serve the people,” he said, urging them to prioritise regular public outreach and the effective implementation of government welfare schemes. He encouraged leaders to strengthen booth-level management, address local issues, and serve as a bridge between the administration and the people.
Sharma further called on party leaders to intensify grassroots efforts in alignment with the BJP’s mission to empower every citizen and build a strong, self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir.
Baldev Singh Billawaria highlighted that booth-level units and Shakti Kendras are the first point of contact with the people and must function actively and with discipline.
Nand Kishore Sharma assured the senior leadership that Jammu North district would continue to play a key role in advancing party activities on the ground.
Earlier, Sat Sharma, accompanied by Baldev Singh Billawaria and Nand Kishore Sharma, paid obeisance at the sacred shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi at Kol Kandoli Mandir, Nagrota, seeking blessings for peace and prosperity in the region.
Later, reinforcing the BJP’s commitment to environmental conservation, Sharma and other senior leaders planted a sapling in the temple premises, urging workers and locals to take active part in the afforestation drive for a greener future.
The meeting also saw the presence of Mandal presidents Vikas Gupta and Sanjay Kumar, district vice-president Rajinder Singh, and prominent Sarpanchs including Satish Kumar, Capt. (Retd) Piare Lal, Chuni Singh, Vikrant Dev Singh, Pankaj, and several other local leaders and workers. (Media reports)
