On Wednesday, Mumbai Police apprehended a man in connection with sending a threatening message to the traffic police helpline, in which he demanded Rs 5 crore from actor Salman Khan. The message claimed the amount would settle the ongoing dispute between Khan and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
A special team from Mumbai police tracked the individual’s location to Jamshedpur, where the suspect was eventually detained for allegedly issuing the threat.
On October 17, the Mumbai traffic police received a threatening message via their WhatsApp number, prompting officials at the Worli police station to be notified immediately for further action.
According to Times of India, confirming Mumbai police’s action a police source stated, “The team conducted the search based on the location of the SIM card, which was allegedly used for sending the threatening message.”
Threats against Salman Khan have persisted due to a long-standing feud with the Bishnoi gang, and tensions escalated further after the assassination of his close friend and political ally, Baba Siddique. This incident has raised serious concerns about Salman’s safety, prompting the need for increased security measures during his public appearances and professional commitments.
In light of the heightened risks, Salman Khan plans to travel to Dubai for the Dabangg Reloaded event, which provides a more secure environment for such high-profile gatherings compared to India. The event is set to feature a star-studded lineup, including Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonakshi Sinha, Sunil Grover, Maniesh Paul, and Aastha Gill, with coordination led by Jordy Patel.
