Saif meets auto-rickshaw driver who took him to hospital after knife attack

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s fans breathed a sigh of relief after videos of the actor reaching his Bandra residence hale and hearty after his discharge from the Lilavati Hospital surfaced the internet. As per an NDTV report, the actor decided to meet with Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto driver who rushed his injured self to the hospital without knowing him, just before he was discharged from the hospital. Rana had taken Khan to the hospital, after the latter was severely injured during a burglary.

Photos of their meet have surfaced the internet, leaving fans in awe of the 54-year-old actor’s generosity. In the photo, Saif can be seen sitting on the hospital bed with his arm around Rana’s shoulders. While the actor was dressed in white shirt and jeans, the auto driver wore a blue shirt and dark pants. According to reports, not only did the driver meet the actor but also his family, including the matriarch, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore. Everyone wholeheartedly thanks him for rushing Khan to the hospital.

A recent report by the Times of India stated that, a few days ago, Bhajan Singh Rana was awarded with Rs 11,000 by an institution for his bravery. In an interview, prior to that he had claimed that he had given his statement to the Bandra police. He went on to add how he didn’t think about money that night as his priority was helping an injured man. He even shared that the Khan family had not contacted him.

Opening up about the night of the crime, he told ETimes, “I wasn’t aware that he was an actor, and I didn’t bother about that. I just saw a man bleeding and wanted to take him to the hospital.”

Speaking about the attack on Saif Ali Khan, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, has been arrested by the Mumbai police. Through their investigation the authorities found out that he wanted to steal from “someone rich” and planned to escape to Bangladesh with the loot to help his ailing mother.
