Moscow:
A Russian passenger aircraft carrying nearly 50 people has reportedly crashed in the Amur region of the country’s Far East. According to preliminary reports, the aircraft’s fuselage was found engulfed in flames, with debris scattered across the area. Search and rescue operations are currently underway, and further details are awaited.
The plane, operated by Siberia-based airline Angara, disappeared from radar while on approach to its destination — Tynda, a town near Russia’s border with China.
Regional Governor Vasily Orlov stated that, as per initial information, 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members were on board. However, the Emergency Ministry put the number slightly lower, estimating around 40 people onboard.
