Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hit out at the RJD and Congress, alleging they were opposing the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill because many of their leaders were either in jail or out on bail.

The Bill seeks to disqualify the Prime Minister, chief ministers, and ministers if they are arrested or detained for 30 consecutive days on serious criminal charges.

Addressing a rally in Gaya after inaugurating several projects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the RJD and its allies of treating the people of Bihar merely as a vote bank, alleging that their leaders had always been involved in corruption.

“No major project was completed in Bihar during the RJD and Congress regimes. They never worked for the welfare of the people and were only focused on filling their own pockets,” he said.

On illegal immigration, Modi claimed that the demography of Bihar’s border districts was changing rapidly and accused the RJD and Congress of supporting infiltrators.

“We will not allow infiltrators to snatch away the rights of the people of Bihar. RJD and Congress are backing them and indulging in appeasement politics. The people of Bihar must remain cautious of such parties and their leaders,” he asserted.

The Prime Minister said the projects inaugurated in Bihar will create new employment opportunities for the state’s people.

He highlighted that 16,000 pucca houses were handed over in the Magadh region on Friday, reiterating his government’s commitment to ensuring housing for every poor family in the country.

The PM also underlined the NDA government’s focus on strengthening Bihar’s railway infrastructure.

Speaking on Operation Sindoor, he recalled that after terrorists killed Indian citizens in Pahalgam, he had vowed in Bihar to avenge the attack — a promise he said has been fulfilled. (Agencies)
