Aam Aadmi Party senior leader and MP Sanjay Singh has addressed speculations about Raghav Chadha potentially joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. Singh dismissed the rumours as completely baseless, stating that he does not believe there is any possibility of Chadha leaving AAP.
He affirmed that Chadha remains a key party member with strong ties to its leadership. Singh highlighted that Chadha was nominated to the Rajya Sabha, entrusted with responsibilities in Punjab, and has received relief in legal cases, making claims of a possible exit unfounded.
Concerns Over Reduced Public Presence
Speculation about Chadha joining the BJP arose due to his absence from party offices, press briefings, and limited social media activity following AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s discharge in the Delhi excise case.
Singh acknowledged that Chadha’s public visibility has decreased in recent months, but told India Today that Chadha himself would be best placed to explain his reduced engagement.
“Will Be the First to Oppose If He Joins BJP”
Singh emphasized that fluctuations in public activity are common in political careers and should not be misinterpreted. A temporary dip in visibility does not indicate any intention to switch parties.
Taking a firm stance, Singh added that if Chadha were ever to join the BJP, he would be among the first to oppose it. However, he reiterated that he sees no such possibility at present. (Agencies)
