Doha: Qatar has placed several murals in public spaces bearing Prophet Muhammad’s sayings, written in English and Arabic, to introduce Islam to incoming World Cup fans, as FIFA’s World Cup 2022 is around the corner.
The murals feature various Prophetic sayings on mercy, charity, and good deeds and are situated across the Pearl District, a popular attraction for visitors in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Hadith are the sayings or practices of Prophet Muhammad, prescribing the way of life for Muslims and teaching them how to practice Islam properly.
The initiative to introduce the Islamic religion was praised by Arab journalists and activists, who consider it innovative.
- Qatar is the first country in the Middle East to host the World Cup, the biggest tournament in the football world at the national team level. The event will take place between November 20 and December 18, drawing thousands of football fans into the country from all over the world.
